Description

This special session of the International Campus Ciudad de La Laguna will offer the screening of the documentary “Daughters of the Holy Land”, followed by a discussion with director Marcel Mettelsiefen and executive producer Mayte Carrasco, moderated by David Baute, Canarian documentary filmmaker and director.

In the Jenin refugee camp, the daily lives of Palestinians are marked by bombings, military incursions, and funerals. Jena, caught in an environment where civilians and armed militants coexist, faces a daily life marked by bombings, military incursions, and destruction. Since the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023, Israeli military operations in the West Bank have intensified their devastation, forcing Jena to live in a state of constant fear, surrounded by death and destruction.

Meanwhile, in the hills near Nablus, a Jewish settler family faces the sacrifices and pain that come with their decision to remain on this contested land. Renana, who lost her rabbi father in an attack by Palestinian militants, is deeply committed to defending her land, a sentiment that has transformed her life and her relationship with her mother.
