Description

The Literary Encounters of Women Writers turn their attention to new Canarian literature. The aim is to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and exchange around contemporary literary creation in the Canary Islands, as a commitment to disseminating the thought, culture, and emerging voices of the archipelago.

The focus is on recognizing the relevance of their works and their contribution to the regional and national cultural and literary landscape. Particular interest is placed on the new generation of female authors.

Through poetry, memory becomes evident amidst voids and silences. Three authors will reflect on the place of memory in literature, situating themselves within the Canarian context from a political, historical, and cultural perspective—a perspective that is intimate and sensitive.

The meetings will also engage with the parallel exhibition Constellation of Canary Island Writers, which will take place at Casa Anchieta, establishing a bridge between different generations of authors and highlighting the continuous expansion of this literary cartography, thanks to the emergence of new talents in the field of Canary Island literature.
