Who is Alicia Llarena González?

Poet, novelist, and essayist. Professor of Latin American Literature at theUniversity of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Author of over one hundred academic publications, including the unpublished works of Mercedes Pinto and the first monograph on the writer, * Yo soy la novela. Vida y obra de Mercedes Pinto* (I Am the Novel: The Life and Work of Mercedes Pinto). Visiting professor at various universities in Latin America, Europe, and the United States. As a writer, she is the author of a book of short stories, four poetry collections, and the volume * Tiempo de ciruelos y adjetivos* (Time of Plum Trees and Adjectives), a selection of her poetry, fiction, and essays, published by the Government of the Canary Islands in commemoration of her being named the featured author for Canary Islands Writers' Day 2025.
