Neuroscience, neurotecnology and neurorights:
humanity at the crossroads

July 30 and 31, 2025

At a time when the capacities to observe, modify or even intervene in brain activity are developed at high speed, in this meeting there is a deep reflection on the scientific, ethical, legal, and social challenges that emerge from these advances.

New horizons

Through an interdisciplinary approach, this meeting will address three fundamental axes: neuroscience, understood as the knowledge of brain mechanisms; Neurotechnology, such as the set of tools that interact with the brain; and neurorights, a new legal field aimed at protecting privacy and mental identity in the digital age.

This course highlights the vocation of the campus to link the most leading knowledge with an ethical and humanistic commitment, within the framework of a city that symbolizes coexistence, respect and cultural and scientific innovation.

San Cristóbal de la Laguna, a city declared World Heritage of UNESCO, stands out for its historical, cultural and academic wealth. Her prestige as a city thought and science makes her a privileged environment to advance the border of knowledge in neurosciences, encouraging reflection, learning and the exchange of ideas in an inspiring framework.

The course is taught in face -to -face mode or can be followed live online.
