Who is Rafael Yuste?

Rafael Yuste is a professor of biological sciences and director of the Center for Neurotecnology at the University of Columbia in New York. He studied medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid and a doctorate in neurobiology at the Rockefeller University in New York. Professor Yuste promoted the Brain initiative, adopted by President Obama, and led the proposal of “neurorights” to protect brain activity, which has resulted in constitutional amendments in Chile and Brazil and laws in Colorado, California and Montana, and has focused its interest in understanding the function of the cortex of the brain.
