Who is Michael Jakob?

Michael Jakob teaches Comparative Literature at the University of Grenoble, History and Theory of Landscape at the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio of the Università della Svizzera italiana and at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He is a visiting professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. His teaching and research focus on landscape theory, aesthetics, the history of vertigo, contemporary theories of perception, and the poetics of architecture. His publications in English include: *The Swiss Touch in Landscape Architecture*, Ifengspace, Tianjin (2015); *The Bench in the Garden*, Oro Editions, Novato (2022); *Faux Mountains*, Oro Editions, CA (2019); and *Seeds of Knowledge*, Silvana Editoriale, Milan (2022). His publications in Spanish include: *El jardín y la representación*, Siruela, Madrid, Spain (2010); and *El banco en el jardín*, Abada Editores, Madrid (2016). He is a curator of international exhibitions and the author of documentaries about landscape and architecture.
