Who is David Baute?

A Canarian documentary filmmaker and filmmaker known for his commitment to social and environmental issues, he founded the production company Tinglado Film, through which he has developed a prolific career with works such as *La memoria silenciada* (The Silenced Memory), *El lenguaje del aire* (The Language of Air), *Ella(s)* (She/It), *Milagros* (Miracles), and *Éxodo climático* (Climate Exodus), the latter of which won the Green Spike at the Valladolid International Film Festival (SEMINCI). In June 2024, he presented his latest work, *Mariposas Negras* (Black Butterflies), a traditionally animated film, in the Official Selection of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. This film has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Goya Award, the Platino Award for Ibero-American Cinema, the Gaudí Award, and the Quirino Award for Best Animated Film. In the field of cultural management, he directs the MiradasDoc International Documentary Film Festival and the Canary Islands International Environmental Film Festival (FICMEC), both held on the island of Tenerife. He has been invited as a jury member and project analyst at various international film festivals and markets: Valladolid International Film Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, Buenos Aires Documentary Film Festival, Cali International Film Festival, Mexico Documentary Film Festival, Proimágenes – Colombia, Atlantidoc – Uruguay, Filma Afro (Colombia).
