Description

This exhibition brings us closer to a reality in war areas, humanitarian crisis and migration, which takes place at the moment and places us facing the limit of the constant violation of human rights experienced by other human beings, inviting us to assess who we are and what we have.

And if you were in that situation ... What would you do?

The photographic exhibition of the graphic reporter Alberto Hugo Rojas, awarded the “Golden Jamo to International Solidarity” in the honors and distinctions of the Lanzarote Cabildo, is composed of a selection of images from 2002 to the present.

Touring in all these years Iraq, Syria, areas of the Kurdish population, Palestine and Israel, Jordan, Rio de Janeiro -in the favelas-, Greece and the islands of Lesbos and Xios, Calais -norte de France-, Serbia, as well as other areas of Europe, the Algerian Sahara, Ukraine, Ukraine… it essentially focuses the reports in childhood of people after war, with stories of overcoming in places where the word peace is always used as an end and ends up becoming a utopia. In the same way, it aims to show the work of people and organizations that fight to help offering medical, educational or social assistance, making visible these actions of true solidarity and empathy, of those who give everything for others becoming true examples to follow.

The images are accompanied by explanatory texts and QR codes, which visitors can scan to visualize videos that will transfer them to the exact moment and place where the snapshot was performed. The exhibition aims to promote reflection and critical thinking against misinformation, with images that tell true stories that are also part of the continuous informative and pedagogical work of the NGO Paz under construction, also integrated into the educational project “entangled with human rights”, in collaboration with the Orfeón La Paz cultural society.

Educating in human rights is educating for peace!
