Description
Various political and legal instruments indicate that the eradication of poverty is an objective of the international community. Therefore, it is necessary to define the circumstances of poverty and determine the applicable norms to end this scourge, ensuring respect for human rights. The United Nations has been carrying out extensive work in this field and advocates for the establishment of public policies and the adoption of norms that recognize and, above all, give effect to social rights. The causes of poverty are multiple, and extreme poverty manifests itself in diverse situations. Nevertheless, the international community is convinced that eliminating poverty is a matter of human rights.
