Who is Jesús Rafael Mercader Uguina?

He is a Professor of Labor Law and Social Security at Carlos III University of Madrid and has served as Legal Counsel to the Constitutional Court. Author of over 500 articles in journals and edited volumes, he ranks fifth among the most cited researchers in the field of Labor Law. His book, "The Future of Work in the Age of Digitalization and Robotics," is the most cited in this area. His most recent monographs are: Labor Law of Damages (2025) and Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence in Digital Labor Law (2022). He directs the Institute for Research in Law and Economics (IUDEC) at Carlos III University of Madrid. He is Counsel at Uría Menéndez Abogados. In 2024, he was awarded the ASNALA-Santander Prize for Best Labor Lawyer of the Year.
