Who is Guiomar Niso Galán?

Scientist head of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), where the Neuroimaging Group of the Cajal Institute, and Vice President of the Young Academy of Spain. She works in human electrophysiology to characterize brain activity in healthy people and understand the alterations that occur in different neurological diseases. It leads numerous open science initiatives, such as open data repositories (Omega), open software (Brainlife, Brainstorm, Hermes) and open standards (IDBS), to encourage reproducibility and transparency in neuroscience.

It has been recognized with awards such as the Medal for Young Researchers of the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain, the Ada Byron Award for the Technologist of the University of Deusto, the International Prize for Science open for The Neuro, and its recent appointment as vice president of the Young Academy of Spain.
