Who is Guiomar Niso Galán?

A senior scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), where she leads the Neuroimaging Group at the Cajal Institute, and vice president of the Young Academy of Spain, she works in human electrophysiology to characterize brain activity in healthy individuals and understand the alterations that occur in different neurological diseases. She leads numerous open science initiatives, such as open data repositories (OMEGA), open software (Brainlife, Brainstorm, Hermes), and open standards (BIDS), to promote reproducibility and transparency in neuroscience.

She has been recognized with awards such as the Medal for Young Researchers from the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain, the Ada Byron Award for Women in Technology from the University of Deusto, the International Open Science Award for The Neuro, and her recent appointment as vice president of the Young Academy of Spain.
