War disasters

July 28 and 29, 2025

This course represents an opportunity to better understand the complexities of modern war conflicts and their impact on humanity.

Understanding war to build peace

The aim is to provide a space for dialogue, learning and reflection, with the goal of contributing to the construction of a more peaceful and just future.

This involves exploring, with a multidisciplinary approach, the effects and challenges that emerge from armed conflicts in our world, addressing how war impacts various aspects of human life, from ethics and moral values to geopolitical and economic implications, in a constantly changing global context.

The city of La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also recognized as a City of Peace for its tradition of dialogue, coexistence, and cultural diversity. Its historical and symbolic significance makes it an ideal place to promote a culture of understanding, respect, and the defense of democratic values in the face of the violence and destruction caused by armed conflicts.

The course is taught in person or can be followed live online.
