INTERNATIONAL CAMPUS CITY OF LA LAGUNA: 2025 Report
This publication records the events of the first edition of the International Campus Ciudad de La Laguna, thus fulfilling one of the objectives set out in the Campus, which was to bring knowledge closer and democratize access to it.
This initiative, promoted by the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council, the University of La Laguna and the CajaCanarias Foundation, was organized in July 2025 in La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage city, the setting in which this academic and cultural space with international projection was developed, in which issues of vital importance today were addressed with a critical and humanist perspective.
The Campus structured its academic program around three courses: The Disasters of War, The Rationale for Heritage in the 21st Century, and Neuroscience, Neurotechnology, and Neurorights: Humanity at a Crossroads. These themes were analyzed by national and international specialists through lectures and panel discussions that fostered a pluralistic and global perspective, and this report compiles their contributions.
Alongside the academic program, cultural activities open to the public were held —exhibitions, conferences, screenings and music— which highlighted the historical heritage of La Laguna and which are also included in this publication.
